Scalloped dips that appear around the edge of the tire tread are almost always an indicator that you have worn out suspension parts. Any worn component like a ball joint, wheel bearing, shock, springs or bushings can cause this condition. The Life of Automatic Transmission Fluid vs Temp

Tranismission Fluid Oxidation   Automatic transmission fluid will provide 100,000 miles of service before oxidation occurs under normal operating temperatures or about 175 degree F. Above normal operating temperatures, the oxidation rate doubles with each 20 degree increase in temperature.
